Rosalind
Bieber
Welcome to the online portfolio of Rosalind Bieber, fine artist based in Suffolk, UK
Passionate about drawing, her work is serious, wide - ranging, and also often humorous. She is playful in her depictions of her subject matter (a spontaneous chuckle is often the first response of the viewer) and playful too in her continuous use of different techniques.
Her Natural World images are a celebration of all living creatures, manifesting again the delight in different materials.
Bieber has the rare ability of being able to describe the timeless characteristics of human situations. The "Heads" series shows her fascination both with the human form and character. The faces are never just formally posed but have an understanding of the inner person. It is in fact this empathy which informs and fuels all her artwork.
Rosalind took up art comparatively late in life, having had an extremely promising career as a solo harpsichordist cut short because of injury.
She then studied painting for 4 years at the City & Guilds of London Art School, and was awarded a British Council prize in her second year.
She has work in private collections both in England and abroad, exhibiting regularly in London over the last 25 years.
In the 1990's she explored the creative uses of the computer to great effect, having been forced to abandon conventional ways of drawing and painting because of R.S.I.
All works are for sale - prices begin at £100.00, further details on request from Rosalind Bieber.
